What the rest of India can learn from Northeast India.
In states like Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya, vehicles move in disciplined queues without anyone honking.
In remote areas of Nagaland, you’ll even find unmanned roadside stalls. Price list is displayed you pick what you need leave the cash in the box and be on your way.
No shopkeeper, No surveillance just pure, uncompromised trust.
Why it's not possible in other states in India?
India has the among the lowest data prices in the world. It is so good that I don't even bother to connect to local Wifi when I travel in India and just tether my phone to work on my computer. Indians routinely have dual SIM phones with large data plans because they are so affordable. Ambani's launch of Jio is directly responsible for the low data prices Indians enjoy.
India has among the lowest drug prices in the world (and going lower still). People who visit India buy medicines to take home quite regularly now.
India has among the lowest cost payment systems in the world in UPI.
On the other hand, Tesla is protected from Chinese competition in the US market, keeping EV prices higher in America than elsewhere.
Prime Minister Modi has worked hard to create a competitive economy where the benefits flow to the average Indian. His government does not tolerate monopolies. He has also actively promoted and encouraged a massive surge in startups and that is the best signal of a highly competitive economy.
Directly due to Modi government policy, Indian startups are making major advances in low cost rockets and that poses a threat to SpaceX the same say the Chinese EVs threaten Tesla.
These are the facts Elon.
Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American.
India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one.
India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable.
Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda.
Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country.
Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online.
India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Indians have made a major contribution to America's technological prowess. Yet, a big part of America no longer wants us.
Indians who are on a visa in the US face the painful prospect of uprooting the life you have built with hard work.
Let this be the birth pains of a bold new future.
Come back, let's build India 🙏
"Yo no me meto en la política"
Pero la política sí se mete en tu salario, en tu trabajo, en tu salud, en tu educación y hasta en las calles por donde caminas.
Todo es política, hasta la indiferencia.
2/2:
...That convenience should not mean an ever-growing financial burden.
Social security is essential but fairness cannot be optional. Employees deserve a system that is transparent, stable and fair for the contribution - not simply deductions.
1/2:
GOI repeated changes to salaried employees pay through wage structure, taxes, ESI, EPFO and other statutory deductions, especially mid-year is not fair.
Organised sector employees are among the easiest citizens to tax, instant deductions and track through payroll.
I prefer X (Twitter) over other social media platforms because there is none of the negative energy, constant criticism, fake keyboard warriors, jealousy, and tribalism that we hear is present on other social media platforms by Naga users. People here are more cultured, mature, and discuss far more meaningful and useful things.
Let's keep it that way in Nagaland. May the tribe of X/Twitter users increase.
Can someone explain this logic behind spending crores on an “artificial tunnel” in an open area?
What exactly are we protecting from—the rain, bird poo, sun & put artificial lights? 🤦🏻♂️🤣 instead of Patkai stretch which has serious rockfall risks. Potholes? Completely ignored 🥲
Honestly, India's youth has become way too easy to manipulate. No research, no critical thinking, no real understanding of politics, governance, or even basic civic sense.. just viral reels, edits, and blind hype. A random guy sitting comfortably in the USA creates a "youth party, says a few motivational lines online, and suddenly thousands start treating him like some revolutionary leader.
Most of these people can't stay disciplined in their own lives, dont want to study properly, dont want to work hard, complain about everything, yet somehow think they fully understand how to change an entire country.
Nobody asks the important questions: Who is the founder? What has this founder actually achieved? What's the real agenda? What experience does he have? What's the actual plan beyond social media marketing? But of course, asking questions requires intelligence. Blindly following trends is easier. This generation doesnt follow facts anymore. it follows whatever looks cool on Instagram..
Dear Indian Gen Z
It’s okay to disagree with Modi govt. It’s okay to support Congress, AAP or anyone. But when so-called nationalist democracy saviours sitting safely in Germany, USA and abroad ask you to hit the streets make sure they’re marching with you, not just posting from foreign AC rooms while you are out facing the heat.
Genuine question: How do you take a country "forward" when almost everybody is in line to get a backward category certificate, including prime minister?
Will increasing MPs, MLAs and Ministers by 50% deliver better roads, no garbage, no pollution, more jobs, better healthcare and education etc for citizens?
Absolutely NOT. In fact, it’s likely to make governance even more worse and increase corruption & elitism. Women’s reservation can be implemented in the current number of seats.
The real reform that India desperately needs is to empower Urban Local Bodies, hold them accountable and ensure they deliver without corruption. But Modi has no stomach to do all that. He just wants to remain in power through manipulation.
Adding Ministers, MLAs and MPs is going to make a bad system worse.
What next? Double IAS, IPS and more babus at all levels as we will have more districts?
Corruption will expand while common citizens suffer even more.
Even as a north Indian I oppose the new delimitation bill. India needs to preserve its federal structure not just on paper but in practice. South Indian states have worked hard on improving their social indices and their economy. They do not deserve this
How to destroy a sovereign nation from the outside 101:
• Manufacture chaos
• Install your puppet
• Build cults, not citizens
• Keep people fighting over religion
• Hollow out education
• Capture institutions
• Normalize corruption
• Sell everything to cronies
• Strip land, water, wildlife
• Turn elections into a farce
• Silence dissent
• Divide REGIONS
You don’t invade.
You just make it fall apart from within.
And then you capture.
The market is worried that if IT software engineers become obsolete than who will buy the new house on EMIs, who will take home loans and personal loans, who will buy expensive phones and electronics and who will go on expensive vacations and stay in luxury hotels. The profitability of banks, reality, consumer goods, travel and liesure companies will take a massive hit. And who will send billions of dollars from USA to fund the household expenses of parents staying in rural India.

“Entrepreneur” now covers everything - inventing something new to running a franchise or offering a service. All take effort, but they’re not the same work. Maybe we need sharper terms like innovator and inventor to separate creation, scaling, and execution. Not a big deal but..
