Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah signed a multi-year contract extension last night. The two sides have been working on the extension for weeks. This off-season, the Vikings now signed both Adofo-Mensah and HC Kevin O'Connell to multi-year deals.

Notre Dame is finalizing a deal to hire Detroit Lions Director of Scouting Advancement Mike Martin as the school’s new general manager, per source. Martin was part of Detroit’s initial front office staff that helped rebuild the Lions’ roster. Now Notre Dame HC Marcus Freeman is pulling Martin away from Detroit to bring an NFL model to South Bend.

Hey followers. Can’t wait for the #ConcertforCarolina tonight at Bank of America Stadium. So proud to see country music star @LukeCombs with some help from @ESPNMartySmith and a host of others put together this event to benefit those impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. I mean, @BillyStrings, @EricChurch, @KeithUrban, @SherlCrow, @TheAvettBros and so many others all together for a common cause. It blows my mind. I’ve been in the Asheville area multiple times since the storm and the funds are greatly needed to rebuild. But for the long-term survival of restaurants, small businesses, galleries, breweries – you name it -- the region needs you to return as soon as possible. That part hit home with me a few weeks ago at a fundraiser concert put on by the @SteepCanyon Rangers, the Grammy winning band from Asheville. Graham Sharp, banjo and song-writer extraordinaire, reminded of the need for tourism to return with a passionate and heartfelt message at the end. It was another reality check among a plethora of reality checks the past month since Helene. Graham was gracious enough to send me a video echoing those thoughts that I want to share with all of you, whether you are going to the concert tonight or not. I don’t usually ask, but if you feel as passionate about his words as I do please retweet or share this message on whatever social media platform you have to get the word out – Asheville and Western North Carolina need you. Plan a trip to the mountains. Among the destruction the beauty is still there.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are fully guaranteeing forward Cedi Osman’s $6.7 million contract for 2023-2024, sources tell ESPN. Osman has averaged nearly 10 points a game in his six seasons with the Cavaliers.

ESPN Sources: The Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate – the Salt Lake City Stars – are hiring former Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski as head coach: https://t.co/UDpGO40hHk

[Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal]

Ben Zobrist got 4/56 from Cubs entering age 35 season in 2016, a deal perhaps no team would give a player of that age today. Taylor gets 4/60 entering age 31 season, plus club option. His camp told other teams this AM that money wasn’t driving factor. He wanted to stay with LAD.
