Proud to have received my 1st covid vaccine. My sore arm is a drop in the ocean compared to the pain & suffering this virus has caused millions of people. When you're offered please take it up. Each vaccine is a step closer to normality

People's periods don't just switch off when they are in hospital. If we can provide toothbrushes, combs and razors for our patients then surely we can have pads and tampons available. Not all patients will be able to go down to a shop to buy their own nor should they

It's only occurred to me now but no ward I've worked on seems to have sanitary products available for people who may have their period while being an inpatient, the only alternative would be an incontinence pad. How is this the case in 2020? Has anyone else seen this?

Can't quite believe I've had my email from the NMC confirming my registration as a #nurse just in time to start my new job in a few weeks. The end of my degree wasn't quite what I'd expected but I've met some amazing people & hopefully it will make me a better nurse #NQN

@StNurseProject Children already worry about fitting in with their peers. Inevitably kids will talk about what they weighed & I can see this leading to bullying of those who deviate from the average. More time should be spent on teaching healthy habits & encouring active lifestyles

Recently several nurses have been saying things to me like 'you students have it really easy' or 'in other places they treat StNs tougher' like it's a good thing for StNs to be placed under huge amounts of pressure on placement (1/2)

One of my pts thanked me for comforting them on a previous shift when they were overwhelmed with anxiety. I find these situations so hard since I never know if what I say will be right but their thanks really helped me, I was left walking away with the biggest smile under my mask

@PUNC18Will My trust has taken to calling us band 4 student nurses to be clearer & to help differentiate us from any students who may be on placement but not opted in. I personally don't find the aspirant nurse title useful - I feel it adds to the confusion of our role and what we can do

It's really saddened me because I've now lost my motivation for doing this. It was my impression we had to be placed somewhere we were familiar & I don't see how my 1st ever placement is familiar
