No, please don't listen to this person. Promoting fics here is already hard enough because half the time the algorithm doesn't push it out. If someone else does and it gets on a jumbotron, it could invite more visibility to the fic on ao3. I'm sure most authors would want that.

i would really advise you not to post ao3 links without talking to the author first, especially not under popular posts with thousands of likes, because NOT EVERY AUTHOR WANTS THEIR STUFF TO LEAVE THE BUBBLE. it's completely different on ao3 where someone has to look for it.
