In 2007, Malaysia sent its first astronaut to the International Space Station. His name was Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor — an orthopedic surgeon selected from 11,000 applicants. His mission happened to fall during Ramadan.
That created a problem no one had ever solved before.
The ISS orbits Earth every 90 minutes — 16 complete orbits every single day. That means 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets. Islamic prayer times are tied to the movement of the sun. If followed literally in space, a Muslim astronaut would be required to pray 80 times in a single day — once every 18 minutes.
So Malaysia did something extraordinary. A full year before launch, the government assembled 150 Islamic scholars, scientists, and astronauts for a two-day conference. The sole purpose: figure out how a devout Muslim prays in space.
They produced an 18-page document called "Guidelines for Performing Islamic Rites at the International Space Station." It covered prayer times, the direction of Mecca, zero-gravity prostration, and Ramadan fasting. The ruling: pray five times a day based on the time zone of your launch site — Kazakhstan. For the Qibla direction, face the Earth. If you can't, face anywhere and pray with intention.
Sheikh Muszaphar prayed all five prayers every day aboard the ISS. After landing, he said he had no difficulties.
One man. 250 miles above Earth. Ramadan. Zero gravity. And 150 scholars made sure he didn't have to face it alone.
Tidak pernah Masjidil Aqsha tak melaksanakan shalat tarawih dan shalat Idul Fitri selama 59 tahun ke belakang. Kecuali hari ini.
Dan, kita semuanya berdiam diri.
What The Media Will Not Tell You
An unknown man grabbed a young airport employee woman by the hair, shouted threats, and brought the knife to the young woman's face.
53-year-old Muslim named Musa Abdraim disarmed the man and saved the young woman.
The police arrested the criminal.
Let me explain what this means so that you understand better.
.
Sometimes tiny cells in our stomach get very stubborn and turn into bad guys called cancer. They grow way too fast and don't listen to the body's rules.
.
But you see, these smart scientists in Korea didn't want to fight them with big scary bombs and bazookas like old medicines do. Instead they sat the cells on a wooden bench and said "Look here you stubborn cells, why don't you just remember who you really are and be good again?
.
So they made a pretend computer twin of our belly cells. Just like a magic video game version. (something like that sha) so they played around in the game to find the three bossy switches that were making the cells stay stubborn.
.
.
Those three bossy switches have funny names. They are MYB, HDAC2, and FOXA2.
Fantastic 3 lool
.
The scientists turned those three mean switches Off. Poof.
And just like that guess what? The stubborn cancer cells were like "Ohhh… I remember now!
.
Then they calmed down, grew up properly, and turned back into nice, normal belly helper cells. No more bad growing.
They then tried this in Mice, and the poor mice got better. The bad lumps got smaller because the cells stopped being the bullies they were.
It's like telling your barking Dog at home to shusss and calm down. And it actually calms down.
.
.
This isn't ready for humans yet, as it's still developing. But it's going to help out someday. And well, a lot of people are gonna be wayyyy happier.
.
.
.
Kudos to the scientists once again and I'm super happy about this development and the positive impact it's going to have on affected people 💪🏾💪🏾

i have no desire to be rich so i can buy a rolex or a lamborghini.
i want to be rich so i can control my time and go to the gym at 3pm on a monday.
sit at a cafe and relax for an hour on a rainy afternoon.
so i can cook meals at home with fresh ingredients.
spend on my family and friends without worrying about a budget.
that's my idea of a rich life, not the fake consumerist idea shoved down my throat.
I hate when people say, “Someone out there probably has it worse.” How is that supposed to help me? Just because someone else has bigger problems doesn’t invalidate my own problems and trauma, nor does it make mine go away. My pain isn’t a competition.
