All India Institute of Medical Sciences has been designated as “Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases” by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.  The Centre is dedicated to provide diagnosis, treatment, counselling, prevention and education for patients and family with rare diseases.  Additionally research in the area of rare diseases is in progress.

Treatment of some of rare diseases is prohibitively  expensive, MoHFW, Government of India has created a crowd funding portal for rare diseases, available at https://t.co/LbWmhjzXDg. The portal acts as an important resource for supporting treatment of these patients. 

MoHFW and AIIMS, New Delhi appeal and encourage all to come forwarded for helping these patients and families.
