@adeletaytay @Jesse_bslade When Listen from Dreamgirls was nominated for an Oscar, it had 4 writers credited including Beyonce. The Academy only allows up to 3 writers (if 3 contributed equal amounts) to be named. Beyonce contributed the least & was not included in the nom.

@adeletaytay @Jesse_bslade I’ll add: most know Bey isn’t a songwriter. She has writing credits on nearly every track she is on. Writers who have worked w/ her directly have described her as writing some vocal melodies, harmonies, arrangements- it’s part of co-write & deserves the credit.
