You don’t have to like my tweets for fear of being busted as an industry hater, but if you want more animated movie watching live-tweets, like this one. 🥹
K-Pop Demon Hunters is like that manic pixie dream girl who takes you by the hand and doesn’t give a fuck if you can’t keep up. She just keeps running until you fall for her because she’s got so much life. Another Sony film that rubs other studio’s noses in their own poopy movies
Overall, always SO GOOD to see animated features push in a new direction. Even if it’s a lot of rehash of other things in a new way, it’s going to feel fresh (or warmly familiar) to a lot of people. The ending won’t be memorable but the ride was fun. 3.5/5
Ah now the credits. Who made this thing? Now I get the buttery bokeh - a Chris Appelhans signature move, that I fully support. Don’t know Maggie but gotta give props for bringing a omething fresh.
Ugh. All that build up for a poopy ending. I could see production yelling “we gotta wrap this up!” What about her relation/conflict with the dude? It didn’t shit the bed but it was definitely a Korean Dutch oven.
