@AntonHand@Ebonscale I mean, their hearts are in the right place, but I think a lot of the "rules" that artists need to know is when it's okay to break them, and why.
PBR validation however is almost entirely bullshit.
But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Check Mark was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, a master Check Mark was forged in secret to control all others. And into this Check Mark he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life.
Years ago, before verified accounts were a thing, back when I was on Eastenders, I was contacted multiple times by parents of children who had been “conversing” with me online. 11-15 year old children that had been talking with a fake me.
I was informed one of these children-
@iwantmyname Yo! Have you got an issue with your payment provider at the moment? Both cards I've tried (from different banks) will successfully take the security deposit, but won't process the actual payment 😭
My domain expires tomorrow and I'd very much prefer it didn't!
@vaccaro3d I can say a lot of negative things about my university course, but the 24 week copyright/IP infringement law course was absolutely priceless in hindsight.
@vaccaro3d It was the same for us at DICE, there were also yearly presentations for the content team by one of the lawyers going through what things are okay and what aren't; along with examples of previous cases.
I think it's pretty damn important; because it's not anyways obvious.
@PartikelVFX @JLHGameArt It's fine, I'm technically on the 3d team here so I don't think I have the authority to delete 2/3rds of your stuff :p
Can we have the duel at dawn anyway? But should probably wait until mid winter when dawn is like 10am
@JLHGameArt Not going to lie, as tech art I'm not even sure I'd bother to hunt down the artist responsible, I'd probably just downscale the texture and use whatever the most in-budget lod is as lod0.
It's not my job to micromanage 3d; I'd flag with a 3d lead but not much more.
@LeenaVanD@Stromberg90 I entirely agree on how backwards it is, but at the same time having worked at a company like that really taught me to value the separation between work and home life.
Still wouldn't take a contract like that again though.
