@DougTenNapel It's an odd adaptation, if you know the book moderately well, and yet they distilled it down to a workable story that can be told in a couple of hours. I like the actors so, flaws & all, I still watch if from time to time.
@twirlynoodle I found this also to be true in the record industry, back in the 1980s. And some of us who aren't bad at promoting *others* aren't good at promoting ourselves-- sorry!
@DougTenNapel "Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God." (Lev 19:31) ...it's kind of hard NOT to see this as bouncing into the territory of mediums... :/
@scalzi ...and I say that as someone very disappointed that my granddaughter's flight from Montana was cancelled (not by SWA, fwiw). Here's to a trip in the spring--
@scalzi ...not really. I've never known a restaurant to give a voucher to make up for food poisoning (usually they just deny culpability). So SWA *didn't* fly a bunch of people in extreme weather conditions, potentially saving lives - it's a bummer BUT also a good call.
@scalzi It was very liberating for me to acknowledge that not everyone was going to like my songs (or my voice, or share my opinion, etc.) - somehow it took 'way too long to figure that out!

@twirlynoodle sorry! fwiw, I find eating raw garlic helpful (AND it keeps vampires away!) - crush a clove, chop it into little pieces, and pop 'em like little pills.
@hankgreen I did (not hairspray, but aerosol deodorants) - made an intentional choice to change my behavior. Over the decades I've done quite a few of these things, in the interest of making tiny little environmental improvements....
