Let’s see,
Gov spending in the first SIX months of 2026:
Travel: 125 million
Vehicle purchases: 37 million
Furniture & equipment: 316 million
Administrative supplies: 380 million
President's Office: 103 million
Majlis: 106 million
Salaries: 8 billion
Is this how a low-income country spends?
That's equivalent to approximately:
308,000 per day on new vehicles
883,000 per day to run the Majlis
858,000 per day to run the President's Office
Over 1 million per day on travel
2.6 million per day on furniture & equipment
Yet when it comes to investing in public services, infrastructure, healthcare, education, or other priorities that directly benefit citizens, we are told there isn't enough money.
There is one MP proclaiming victory saying the winning candidate was defeated. There is one cabinet minister who count only the ballots in Addu and not the boxes in Male and proclaiming a victory. There is another Gov MP who’s proclaimed victory in ballot box wins rather than ballots.
At this moment, humility and acceptance is not in their vocabulary.
Waiting for a tweet from Muizzu about Malé power outage. The only place which matters to him. Addu could be candlelit for a week and his timeline would still be crickets and tumbleweeds.
What does Muizzu mean by opposition not having anything to say about this government??
Here's a short recap.
Indiaout turned into Indiaplscomback.
We can't be bullied speech after claiming a side in Middle east politics for no good reason
Refusal to finish payments to first ever sovereign fibre optic cable and losing the opportunity to slash internet costs + potential foreign revenue source for the whole country.
Money was printed discreetly to fund insane number of political hires, salaries superseded revenue and not enough office space to even house them.
Parliament is a supermajority rubber stamp institute attempting to peel back civic freedoms on the daily. Latest cyber security bill aims to give big brother powers to the government.
Binveriya was apparently a problem but as per campaign promises decided to keep the policy but not allow anyone to utilize the lands to this day because god forbid introducing more units to the rent market you refuse to regulate.
Huge compensation sums given out post mismanagement of airports, land etc etc.
Non functioning airports right next to each other?? Some fully finished ones shut down to build another in the same atoll. Nothing seems to work though.
Yumn case was subdued with political influence due to the interests of some ministers. No one even considered resignation as an option.
Media control bill. We literally protested for this too.
The MTCC taxi debacle. I don't need to even say anything.
I could go on but this is just off the top of my head.
A cave dive with an entrance at 58m is not a site for regular recreational divers from a liveaboard. That is advanced technical diving territory.
So why were established dive regulations and depth limits ignored in the first place?
Just watched Muizzu’s speech tonight. Lmao man’s actually lost it.
Acting weird, ranting at everyone and sounding pressed the whole time. Get a grip, loser.
Last night at the royal residence.
