@gabbyrose_wx Chase because there are storms to chase, not for validation.
I've been doing this since 2003. I have a meteorology degree (and two engineering degrees). Most people think of me as another very talented chaser's driver. 🤷
I get to see the storms and hang out with good friends.
Hey, not bad. Notice the dark red near Baltimore...that's where I lived until I was 13. Then, it was an hour north of Richmond, then Blacksburg, VA.
They didn't have any New Mexico-isms in there, like "all sick", but I don't really say any of those anyhow.
@CRyanMauk I don't pretend I'm out there saving lives. If the opportunity arises, so be it.
I don't call myself roadside assistance every time I help an old lady change her tire.
@a_dose_of_wx Driving has always been the most dangerous part.
1. Driving
2. Lightning
3. Hail
4. Tornado
5. Floating fire ant mats during flash floods
@a_dose_of_wx@SirlinJohn We bullseyed a deer with Crown Vic back in '18 near Corona, NM. Busted the headlight and the grill. Drove to Las Vegas, NM, for the night, replaced the headlight the next morning and chased the next day. First down day, I bought a new lens and grill for $50 at a junkyard.
