Do you know I have a mastodon account?
I have a mastodon account. I've had it since 2021. I'm @[email protected]

Mastodon is superior to Twitter. More free. Less censorship, and you can run your own server if you want. It's a peer to peer social network.
@TylerMc95409307 You're right. As a non-binary person, I will never be a woman. Look at this article I wrote on 6 December 2021: https://t.co/xPNetDFNNO
(I said I wouldn't post to Twitter anymore, but I'm breaking character to respond to this, because I felt like doing so)

Just to be clear, I shall no longer write posts on Twitter.
Not because I'm bothered by the silly twit who currently owns it; Twitter was always bad, before and after.
I deleted my YouTube a while ago, for the same reason I'm abandoning Twitter:
Twitter is proprietary garbage.
@BoomVermeer The machines I sell should work fine for that purpose, and the cooling is very efficient. I stress-test every machine that goes out; if the CPU temperature never exceeds about 85C, then I consider it acceptable.
Many other laptops have poor cooling and exceed 100C when stressed.
been tidying up ifdtool source code in coreboot. it started when i was adding a feature (nuke region with all 0xFF) and i saw their code was messy, to put it politely. my work so far (im refactoring all of it):

ifdtool manipulates intel flash descriptors
@railmeat i've run my own mail server for years and never end up on spam lists. my server is configured perfectly, except for lack of list-unsubscribe header in emails, but then i don't run a list so it's moot
proper ptr record, spf, dkim, i even have a dmarc email for reports and such
Have you ever wanted to host a mail server in your living room, but your ISP sucks?
I wrote a nice guide just for you. In it, I show how to route static IPv4 + IPv6 subnets to your home network. All ports open.
It's how I host the Libreboot site. Guide:

@railmeat i don't know of any *good* guides. i'm planning to write one myself at some point. https://t.co/aUWMiaSekU currently just has that one l2tp guide, i'm planning to write more guides and make a proper website for them
If you're using libreboot 20210522 on any gm45+ich9 thinkpad e.g. X200/T400, you need to update, because that version (which was a testing release) couldn't reboot, due to a microcode bug. Newer versions fix it, allowing you to observe Reboot Tuesday.
Hate black friday? Loathe cyber monday?
Libreboot has it's own holiday: Reboot Tuesday. 1st Tuesday of each December; this year is December 6th.
Simply reboot your Libreboot machine *at least once* on the day. https://t.co/UGSKXQVDGd servers will reboot every hour, on that day.
I made some improvements to the guide. Explained a few things (such as PTR records) a bit better, and tidied it up to make it flow better when reading.
also added that photo of my actual l2tp router

I (re-)found this link the other day: https://t.co/LXrIRwdbOg
It's a story, about some guy who keeps getting promoted at his company, but a glitch in company paperwork makes everyone forget he exists, so he just does nothing all day while getting paid.
Has some mild BOFH vibes.
finally found my camera to snap a pic. this is my tunnel router, keeping libreboot servers up via @aaisp L2TP
hostname: aimbot
it's on a test stand the last 2 days. it was formerly a thinkpad, in a past life. it now keeps the country of libreland afloat. https://t.co/xJtW1534nI
@norabunoraibu@noIPv6 the trouble with a vps is if you want to use ipsec/wireguard, the speed might suffer a lot on the vm but other than that yeah it's doable. that's going to be another guide at a later date
i might suggest a colo instead. then you can put a decent cpu in there to handle encryption
@norabunoraibu@noIPv6 they take "direct debit" which is a form of automated wire transfer payment, it's quite common in the UK. they might take foreign customers, not sure. i'm contemplating writing a separate guide for people who want to use someone other than a&a, for this exact reason
https://t.co/ot4xHITqJL is back online now. in 12 hours i moved servers, re-did my DNS server from scratch, L2TP tunnel router from scratch (without documentation available), set rDNS records on new IPs, updated NS records for about 30 domains... turns out i'm not a bad sysadmin!
https://t.co/vPzZaXj9tQ is back online now. My other sites will be back online later today.
Can't bring minifree online until I get rDNS set on the new IPs because the minifree site sends emails. I like to set rDNS/PTR records and set SPF properly in my DNS, for the mail server.
