PMMs who became founders are the best at building from scratch with low budget.
Just read Adam Holmgren's break down post on how Fibbler grew non branded SEO. Got me thinking how this applies in Web3, where most protocols still don’t show up where intent actually exists.
If I joined a protocol tomorrow with zero budget and had to build bottom funnel content, I’d use the same pb
1. Best pages first: majorly with articles, this is because people don’t search your protocol, they search “best yield aggregator” or “best onchain casino”.
2. Comparison pages: as a LSD protocol user, I’ve done this countless times, comparing protocols in my head and lots of users like me exist. DeFi protocols just need to make that visible.
3. Better docs: being a smm, I’ve seen most docs talk to builders and therefore I have to make it consumable socially, lol, beats the goal. IMO, users just want clarity, not architecture. And finally
4. AI search shift: it’s kinda weird most D.P ain’t using this well enough. In an ai dom era, most people don’t ask Google for “best alternative to X protocol” anymore, they just ask ChatGPT, so why not optimize for llmsxt files. This would really help many DeFi devs and marketers.
Well that’s it. Exactly how I’d run my buildup
Just showing up where intent already exists.
We are revising our developer API policies:
We will no longer allow apps that reward users for posting on X (aka “infofi”). This has led to a tremendous amount of AI slop & reply spam on the platform.
We have revoked API access from these apps, so your X experience should start improving soon (once the bots realize they’re not getting paid anymore).
If your developer account was terminated, please reach out and we will assist in transitioning your business to Threads and Bluesky.
