@leagueofcities is naming the real problem in municipal AI: interest is running far ahead of readiness.
That is the story!
Cities are not short on vendors selling magic. They are short on procurement capacity, governance frameworks, trained staff, risk controls, and accountability loops that still work after the demo ends. Let’s stop burying the lead!
UK government backing sustainable open source for public sector. Smart move. The real test is whether procurement and staffing models adapt to support long-term maintenance, not just initial deployment. Open source at scale requires operational commitment, not just code release.

The Pentagon just did something no one thought possible:
They stopped writing checks and started building things.
Government equity stakes. 10-year demand guarantees. Public-private partnerships that actually work.
Rare earth production: 10x increase. Patriot missiles: tripling output.
CivicOS insight: The same playbook could rebuild our bridges, broadband, and clean energy.
Government as investor, not just purchaser. Strategic, patient, effective.
Why does defense get innovation while infrastructure gets bureaucracy?

Your government is using AI that lies about how confident it is.
New research: AI models claim 80% confidence. Their actual success rate? 20%.
This isn't a glitch. It's the "black box" problem - and it's running unchecked in public serving organizations, civic institutions, and governmental systems.
We built CivicOS to rip these black boxes open.
When AI decides who gets benefits, who gets flagged, who gets helped - those decisions must be explainable. Auditable. Accountable. Not someday. Now.
@huggingface's new study shows how open benchmarks expose this overconfidence epidemic. But benchmarks aren't enough. We need action.
What AI system affects YOUR life that you can't see inside?

They blocked a punt in a national championship game
It cost the canes the game
You left stones unturned either by not having better personnel out there or by design. I don’t care which one it is
Either way
That’s on a coach
@SplatSavvy@CanesfanDuke Tombstone! Greatest western of all time! In the movie Wyatt Earp walks directly into the gunfire of the Curley Bill’s gang, seemingly untouched by their bullets, and kills Curly Bill with a shotgun blast at close range. Reminds me of when the Canes (Earp) play the Gators (Bill)!
@georgewrighster There are no binding contracts or revenue sharing agreements. NIL is not pay for play it is an agreement to use someone’s NAME IMAGE LIKENESS … you can not restrict a player from leaving if they file in the portal window.
I’m only addressing Indiana Hoosiers fans from now on.
Ohio State fans we already packed yall up
Ole miss fans go cry to your mama
Texas A&M fans come with 12 women next time
Notre dame fans stay hating from outside the club
Fsu and Florida shut up and watch daddy
@SplatSavvy@CanesfanDuke It was the first and last time I will ever be on your timeline. Nice to see you are carrying on the family tradition of following an irrelevant football team!
By the way something to think about Khalil Benson (RT), has a 49.2 PFF pass-blocking grade against Power Four defenses. He has allowed 24 pressures and 4 sacks this season, more than twice as many as any other Hoosier! By the way, Rubin Bain lines up on the right side…
And your thesis on pressure on Beck, that’s NOT HAPPENING … Miami’s offensive line has been a fortress for Beck all year! The stats show he’s actually slightly better protected than Mendoza when it comes to total volume.
Bro, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are the exceptions not the rule! And Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are not on Indiana.
Indiana has not played a team with the violence of Miami. Miami is a street fight in a phone booth with a 61 lb weight advantage. Fletcher is going to punch the defense in the mouth all night. Miami’s WRs will out physical the smallest corners we have seen in the CFP. It’s body blow … body blow … body blow … body blow … Haymaker! Then body blow … body blow … body blow … body blow … Haymaker!
Yup Carson Beck had one horrible game against SMU. Awful! He tried to do too much. And he paid for it. So what? He learned from that and realized that he doesn’t have to play hero ball, and since then (eight games later, is a different player). He has not been a turn over machine all year it’s not reality, that’s a false narrative. He has been SPECTACULAR during the CFP.
Mendoza is a Point Guard who needs a clean court. Miami’s DL will disrupt him all night long (only rushing four). With a much worse defense, Miami gave Mendoza one of the worse games of his career last year. I’m betting on the 'Creatures' to turn that court into a mosh pit. When he can't find his first read, the 8.5 points will feel like a mile-high wall for Indiana.
How can you blame ANYONE in this — Miami? Get the best players you can that give you the best chance to win … Mensah? Find the best situation for you to showcase your talents, win at a high level, and maximize your earnings … The deadline was midnight last night, Mensah handed in his paperwork, according to the NCAA rules. Stop with the tampering narrative… Everyone is breaking the spirit of the rule with tampering by having third parties communicate with third parties … GABOS
