No identity will ever bring me lasting peace or happiness.
Nor will building or defending any concept I have about myself.
For none of it is who I truly am.

Fantastic discussion, @jordanbpeterson (@JBPpod) & @dr_mcgilchrist. A convo about distinction and unity through the lens of brain hemisphere theory.
The ending inspired me to purchase & read 'The Matter with Things'.

I solve the equation by assuming what I’m seeing is due to bipolar, until I can prove otherwise. This might seem overly dramatic, but hypomania isn’t fun for anyone, and although it *can* be a fun ride from inside it, it rarely leads to positive outcomes.

Me: I recognise this.
It can be v challenging discerning what the underlying cause of a mood shift is, or if there’s one, let alone if it requires measures. Maybe I’m being overly vigilant, cautious, leery, dubious or circumspect. Or maybe, I’m already on a hypomanic flier.
If somebody had no clue what #SelfEnquiry is, this might be the video to watch.
And for those who are not new to it, the way he delivers the description and ties it together is remarkable.
Definitely worth the watch!

@donalddhoffman “The hallmark of consciousness” as most people define it. Turn it on its head; nothing *has* consciousness because consciousness is *primary*, not dependent.
@donalddhoffman There’s an even more basic assumption, that you exist as a separate entity.
Before the concept of psychologically healthy subjects is no-subject.
@PeterAttiaMD More interesting than avoiding workout overtraining is,
What is the underlying internal landscape that leads to the attitude of *having* to optimise x, y, z.
Go to the root rather than picking at the weeds.
