SWIFT x Consensys (Linea) - quietly massive

SWIFT just confirmed it’s working with Consensys to build a conceptual prototype for its new blockchain-based shared ledger, joined by 30+ global banks including JPMorgan, Citi, and HSBC.

That ���conceptual prototype” isn’t just theory. It means SWIFT is already testing real transactions on Consensys tech, which likely means Linea’s zk-EVM stack under the hood.

If it goes well, SWIFT could scale this into a global settlement layer, 24/7 tokenized value movement across banks, all powered by Ethereum infrastructure.

If they planned to build their own chain, they’d start with their own prototype.

Choosing Consensys first means they’re exploring Linea as the foundation.

This is the kind of thing that doesn’t move price short term, but could define institutional adoption of Ethereum long term.
