I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Reverend James Lawson, a civil rights icon and steadfast advocate for the nonviolence movement. As a fellow member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Reverend Lawson was a trusted voice we could lean on in times of tumult and strife.
His legacy and teachings continue to inspire me as I continue the pursuit of justice and equality. My prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
