I don’t understand how universities are employing others who have failed at other HEI’s with such ease and so little scrutiny. One guy has fucked contractual terms at one university now is on a 12 month contract destroying another university’s reputation.
Higher education would benefit from not having leaders who continue to walk into other HEIs and cause chaos. The shit situation that was caused at Nottingham is a failure of SMT/leadership and poor financial decisions.
Padel has to be the most quintile four and five sport that has ever existed. No one from a working class estate is like ‘Timothy, shall we go play padel?’
Adding VAT onto private school fees looks to be one of the worst education policy decisions of recent decades. Forced closure of good schools, disrupted children's education, and likely to cost taxpayers more than will ever be recuperated. Terrible.
I’m pretty sure it was working at a loss and then blamed VAT. The model doesn’t change, repeated across so many private schools that are closing. It had VAT exceptions for years. Going to a private school shouldn’t be exempt from VAT. Well there’s always a place in a state school
After 117 years serving Solihull, Ruckleigh School is closing its doors.
The school has pointed directly to Labour's VAT raid on education, alongside business rates changes, and rising costs, as key reasons for its decision.
Labour claimed this policy would only affect the wealthy. The reality? An historic school is shutting, children are being forced to find new places, staff face uncertainty, and our community loses an institution that has educated generations since 1909.
This is not a tax on privilege. It is a tax on aspiration and Solihull is paying the price.
@MaxFRobespierre@I_amMukhtar I am a self employed taxi driver. My main priority is immigration. I want all the third world pests deported. I’ve stopped taking certain demographics in my taxi because they are guaranteed to annoy me.
Who else agrees that EVERY benefits claimant who is able bodied & healthy should be made to do community work in their local area as payback for the free money they receive from hardworking taxpayers?
If they refuse then benefits should stop.
@narindertweets Homophobic, thick violent men do not deserve to be in society. He is more than likely a reform and restore voter. His failure on society is blamed on immigrants, not the fact he’s a violent thug.
The complete irony of @patagonia suing #Pattiegonia the drag artist. wtf. I assume the region of Patagonia will sue them too? This is just stupid and disgraceful. @pattiegonia has done so much and raised so much money for great causes. I hope people boycott this awful brand.
Firstly, quoting the daily mail and there’s a very important difference with socialism and communism. But let’s not use common sense. And I’m glad Maggie is no longer here. Selling off assets is the very reason it’s expensive to live in the uk; energy, food, transport…
Imagine spreading lies, and then supporting grifters like Farage who is digging himself a grave, because he’s claiming to got hacked by Russian… now the uk government, police, gchq etc are investigating this claim. Again, white men rape women and children too.
@sinclai11@mattfrei I heard that Morrisons are cutting jobs, and closing stores even though they made millions in profits. They don’t care about the workers, they care about their shareholders. Same with brewdog, Tesco, etc. The tax loopholes are a disgrace.
That failed young Tory blaming the Labour party for the very thing the tories failed; young people. He literally was a child of the Tory era, surely the working hard analogy isn’t working is it, he’s still jobless. Capitalism is shit. #LBC@mattfrei
@narindertweets There’s a huge safeguarding issue here. If she was a sex worker in severe deprivation, (I mean she is with a paying audience), without the business account, her unborn child would be flagged as a concern. She’s using her child in a horrific way.
@Mistweeted1@mattfrei Agreed. He would definitely benefit from going to university, not for the academic experience but the lived experience of a wider range of people. And also not even a high ranked HEI, his view of the world is that he is entitled to get a job. Even the tories can’t see his value.
@sinclai11@mattfrei Empowering your workforce is clearly better for society. 1980s Thatcherism BS is not working. The country is a state as a result of austerity and selling off assets, lack of housing as a direct consequence of selling off council property. Trickle down economics doesn’t work.
