A Note of Gratitude

On 14 August, I had the privilege of speaking at the “Partition Horrors Remembrance” programme, organised under the direction of the Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor, and under the able leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s bat swing has been outstanding. What’s even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs. This freedom allows him to play the way he does.

That innings was nothing short of spectacular!

神よ日本を救ってください

What a disastrous start of 2024: While listening to the updates on Noto Peninsula earthquake tsunami, there has been a major airplane accident of collision of Japan Air Lines (JAL 516) with coast guard aircraft after landing in Haneda airport in Tokyo.

The first time I met you in the Indian dressing room, you were pranked by other teammates into touching my feet. I couldn’t stop laughing that day. But soon, you touched my heart with your passion and skill. I am so happy that that young boy has grown into a ‘Virat’ player.

I couldn’t be happier that an Indian broke my record. And to do it on the biggest stage - in the World Cup Semi-final - and at my home ground is the icing on the cake.
