@iliketomakestuf If you like to browse fun/cool stores: Science and surplus on Milwaukee is awesome. Also urban remains on gränd has some awesome salvaged details from classic Chicago buildings
@iliketomakestuf Poorly and in fits and starts. But seriously it’s a lot of same size boxes (for ease of modularity), shelves away from where I actually work, and LABEL EVERYTHING!
@iliketomakestuf
just heard latest No Instruction. Get that you'll be busy in Chicago but if a meetup is going to happen and you need a Chicagoan to help find a place (or while you are here just need a Chicagoan's help at all) let me know. Happy to help.
@safiyat70 @chicagosmayor@janicejackson@ChiPubSchools@CTULocal1 Too young to be a baby boomer, can’t think of any other common use of the word. But I do tend to agree with you. Teachers should be revered. They also shouldn’t get paid days back after the strike.
@arizcats5@CTULocal1@chicagosmayor I think it’s palatable to say if you forfeit pay to take a stand it dilutes your stand to then ask for the pay back.
@tamisirkin@CTULocal1@ILRaiseYourHand 100% agree. If CTU believes in making up the days do them for free. Stop saying it’s for the kids when it’s actually about cash.
@CTULocal1 So take a stand where you forfeit work and this pay to make a point and now demand you get your pay back? You all are losing the support of people who have to work while their kids are not being taught by people not working.
@MatthewBorus @CTULocal1@chicagosmayor Or she is saying that teachers chose to not be paid to make a point so she is backing/supporting their decision to not be paid.
@stacydavisgates@CTULocal1 How about this: We make up the days but teachers do it for free. When you go on strike you chose to not make money. Requesting you make up the days and salary after making the choice to strike is spineless.
