@cgl_119 I remember wondering the opposite when I was in Montpellier and everything shut down for all of August! That being said, most people at Teesside went for 10-14d at a time (but this is a while ago now)
Putting together my first application package for academia, I feel utterly unprepared. On the bright side, it made me realize that I underwent tremendous personal growth the last years and I think that alone made it all worthwhile.
