@Miss_Snuffy Agreed. I'm in a union because I wouldnt have managed to get through my experience of 'silenced by support' without a union. But I'm so aware that if they knew my views they wouldn't support me at all. Its not a great position to be in.

@Miss_Snuffy Ooook. So I'm a teacher. My school starts at the same time as my daughter's and ends at the same time and they are 20 minutes apart. Without the help of teleportation how exactly am I to do my job hours without before and after school care?

@Miss_Snuffy I agree that initially it seems sinister but one of my bug bears is this chronic apathy. They dont give a shit. About anything. Their work, their life, people. Nothing! *Shrug* Don't care. Perhaps a healthy dose of shame is needed to show them what's worth caring about.

@nosoupforgeorge I dont get this. As a teacher, kids often wish me Happy Diwali etc. One girl gave me some pakoras from her Eid party. Not once was I offended. Just glad they shared their holiday joy with me. Inclusion is celebrating all religions not hiding your religion for fear of reprisals.

@JeremyTate41 @the_culturist_ Beautifully put. I never liked Phillip Pullman's opinion that Susan becoming obsessed with nylons and lipstick was misogynistic and showed a hatred for growing up. You put it better than I could but that's precisely what I felt. We need these stories even as adults.
