Southwest Region Highlights

Across the Southwest, community-focused events brought people together through service, education, and culture. In Oklahoma City, a Thanksgiving donation drive supported hundreds of families. In Dallas, Texas Horizon Academy students took part in a safety and awareness program with local police. Houston hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner fostering dialogue between law enforcement and the Turkish community, while Odessa–Midland celebrated diversity with a cultural festival featuring 37 cultures.

🦃 Niagara Foundation’s Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner welcomed officials, faith leaders, and volunteers to a table of gratitude, reflection, and harmony—beautifully enriched with art and heartfelt “Voices of Gratitude.”

Both events echoed one timeless truth:
When devotion guides us, our differences don’t divide us—they complete us.

Chicago continues to write a story of unity, hope, and shared humanity.

From Atlanta to Orlando and Memphis, our volunteers continued spreading compassion and unity this season.

Atlanta’s partnership with the Indonesian Catholic Community brought meaningful aid to families in need, while Central Florida volunteers visited the Maitland Fire Department and joined Rep. Anna Eskamani’s relief campaign to support hundreds of neighbors.

Memphis hosted a warm Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner, strengthening dialogue and shared humanity across diverse communities.

We’re proud to celebrate the Atlantic Institute’s Best Non-Profit Award and Sel & Angie Buyuksarac receiving the Humanitarian Silver Medallion—honors that reflect the dedication of all Hizmet-inspired volunteers.
