Beyond THRILLED to be spending the next 5 years training with such amazing people @siusom@khalilqatoMD Vascular Surgery family. So grateful for my family and the mentorship that got me here. I’m going to be @FutureVascSurgn
Our excellent research resident Rohini Patel presenting @VESurgery#VESS2023 the advantages of staying all transfemoral for #fevar#bevar cases. Morphable sheaths can help! #aortaed
Arch Debranching for large descending TAA, Kommerell diverticulum with aberrant right subclavian artery Followed by TEVAR. Ascending aorta to right SCA, right carotid bypass in the chest and to left carotid and subclavian in the neck
First Nexus case @EndospanLtd in the west coast @UCSDsurgery Rt carotid to lt subclavian bypass and lt carotid transposition to graft. Cutting edge solutions for all aortic pathologies from Ao valve to iliacs @UCSDHealth Great collaboration with cardiac surgery
Solution for short landing zone in #TCAR in patients who are truly not candidates for CEA. Sew 10 mm Dacron graft conduit to common carotid. Remove sheath stopper to advance the sheath several centimeters in the conduit. Now you have 15 cm landing zone.
Using Axillobifemoral preformed 8 mm PTFE graft reversed for Femorofemoral-Popliteal bypass in a frail patient with CLI and inadequate veins. Might help saving time and get sick patients out of the OR efficiently!

Great presentations by @AsmaMathlouthi5 on type II EL leading to type I & III and by @NadinElsayed1 on the lack of benefit of cerebral angiography in TCAR and by @vinnyl88 showing again that we need to make better endovascular devices to fit women anatomy @VascularEVS
Strong analysis by @NadinElsayed1@UCSDsurgery of 4425 patients with restenosis after CEA. Fascinating that 20% still treated with redo-CEA!TCAR is associated with 60% reduction in stroke/death compared to redo-CEA and to TFCAS https://t.co/LJAGgJq1Uq
Honor to have Dr Ochoa Chaar @MdChaar visit @UCSDsurgery Center for Learning and Excellence in Vascular and Endovascular Research (CLEVER) as the @SVS Wylie Traveling Fellowship awardee
Thrilled to announce that Dr Ann Gaffey has joined our team as an Assistant Professor In Residence @UCSDMedSchool Ann completed her MD @Georgetown residency and fellowship @UniversityofP She will help structuring our translational and basic science research lab. @WomenSurgeons
