We had made an online space to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prof Gail Omvedt followed by a discussion on 'anti-caste feminism beyond dominant narrative' today on 2nd Aug 2025. We were using Google meet as a digital platform for discussing the same. Since we had circulated the meeting link in different social media platforms for better participation, it's so unfortunate that a few unwanted elements had joined the meeting to corrupt it. They hacked the meeting successfully and played unwanted vulgar sexual content. Though we have faced this same during the discussion of sub-classification related judgement of SC, it was completely unexpected today after all our serious concern.

The attack was like a digital jam that there was a red sign to block or report them and no option visible to cancel the whole meeting. Our host was absolutely helpless after losing the control.

Hereby we request our people

1) Don't share the meeting link to any of your groups and public platform like fb, Instagram or X etc..

2) Don't share to upper caste elements unless you know them personally.

We are taking more precautions from our side to avoid such disturbance. Here we apologise for such an unexpected situation. We will overcome the technical flaws and digital incapability in future to stop such elements. It was an alarm reminding us of the digital divide.
