$4.99 a month barely registers. Put five small subscriptions together and the yearly total can reach hundreds of dollars.
These are the checks I use before every renewal. https://t.co/QD1Z47115K
5 things that moved App Store downloads for me:
1. Your title and subtitle are search fields, not a place for your tagline. Most devs burn them on the brand name, then wonder why nobody finds the app.
2. Almost nobody scrolls past the second screenshot. Put the reason to download in the first one and save the UI tour for later.
3. Localize. Non-English stores have far less competition and installs cost less there. Cheapest win on this list, and most devs skip it.
4. Ask for the rating after someone finishes something real in the app. Prompting on first launch is asking a stranger for a favor.
5. Keep shipping. Every update is another shot at testing new metadata.
ASO isn't something you finish. Change one field, see what moves, change the next one.
What's worked for you?
Monthly subscriptions annoy you. Annual ones are the ones that actually get you.
A monthly charge shows up twelve times a year. Even when you ignore it, you see it. It stays in your peripheral vision.
An annual charge shows up once, then disappears for eleven months. Long enough for the app to leave your home screen, for the price to change, and for your reason for buying it to stop existing.
Then it lands as a number you don’t recognise, at a time you didn’t plan for.
Every “check your money monthly” habit misses these by design — the whole premise of a monthly review is that you’re looking at this month.
Three things that help:
1. List subscriptions by annual cost, not monthly.
$8/month and $96/year are identical money, but your brain doesn’t treat them that way. Convert everything to one unit and the ranking changes — often a lot.
2. Set the reminder a week before the renewal, not the day of.
The day of is too late to compare alternatives or use up what you’re still paying for. A week gives you a decision instead of a reaction.
3. Screenshot the price when you sign up.
Annual plans are where quiet price increases live. A year later you have no memory of what you originally agreed to, which is exactly why the email announcing the change sits unread in Promotions.
The pattern is simple: the longer the gap between charges, the less you remember and the more it costs.
When’s your next annual renewal? Most people can’t answer that, which is sort of the point.
The screen you design last is the first screen every new user sees.
Empty states. The moment right after install when there's no data yet, so there's nothing to look at. Most apps drop a grey icon and the words "No items" there and move on.
That screen does more work than your landing page. The person hasn't decided anything yet, and this is their evidence for whether the app deserves another ten seconds.
Four things a good empty state does:
1. Says what goes here, not what's missing.
"No subscriptions yet" describes the database. "Add one subscription to see what renews next" describes the point.
2. Shows the payoff, not the chore.
Nobody wants to enter data. They want the thing that appears after they enter data. Say what appears.
3. Gives one action, not three.
An empty screen with three equal buttons is a decision. A decision at zero motivation is a churn point.
4. Makes the first entry cheap.
If the first thing you ask for is eight fields, most people close the app. Ask for one, fill the rest later.
I build and test software for a living and this is the flow that gets skipped most often — because you stop being able to see it. Your dev build has had data in it since week two. Wipe the app and reinstall before every release. You'll see what a stranger sees.
What does your app's empty screen say right now?
Deleting an app doesn't cancel the subscription.
This is the single most expensive misunderstanding in phone billing, and it's not the user's fault. The mental model is reasonable: app gone = relationship over. But the subscription was never with the app. It was with Apple or Google, and it sits in your store account.
iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions
Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions
Two things worth doing while you're in there:
Sort by what you actually opened this month, not by price. The $2.99 you never open is worse value than the $14.99 you use daily.
Check the renewal dates, not just the list. Annual plans are the ones that bite — they hide for 11 months and show up as a charge you have no context for.
What did you find in there?
I choose Claude over Codex and regretting the decision now.
I tried upgrading the ClaudeMax plan from ClaudePro.
Payment is successful, But Max plan is not taking effect. I tried all ways to contact them(email, support chat). Only their fin bot is replying and asking me to log out and login repeatedly.
I paid for a service and am not getting anything in return.
Very disappointed and frustrated .
Does anyone know how to reach Anthropic Human Support?
I want the service which I paid for. If it’s not possible please provide the refund.

No, its been 2 days. I tried hard refresh, new login in incognito, uninstalled and reinstalled mobile app. Nothing is working. Its still on a pro plan with pro limits.
I have been trying to reach anthropic’s support team. But there is no response from them apart from their bot.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help me here.
I really like the product(claude code and claude design). Thats why I paid for the Max plan. What I’ve been put through is completely not acceptable.
I’m not even getting bot reply from their support email. Not sure what to do. Very poor customer service. @claudeai@AnthropicAI@DarioAmodei please resolve my issue and provide the service which I have paid for

Upgraded Claude Pro → Max on July 29. Payment cleared, invoice paid. Account still shows Pro.
Two days of an AI bot telling me to log out and back in — after it said the issue is a sync failure on their end. No way to reach human support.

I have been trying to reach anthropic support team. No matter if I use their help option inside claude or email to their support mail id. Only their fin bot is replying and after a while it stops replying. I don’t know who to reach at this point. I paid 100$ and got nothing back.
Just started to get some downloads on the App Store.
It’s really hard to make people care about your product. Here’s some useful advice for being successful, that I learned.
