A very proud moment for our KIIT & KISS family as 54 of our student-athletes will represent India at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.
From 14 athletes at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou to 54 this time, this journey makes me very happy. Our KIITians and KISSians will represent the country across seven sports, with 45 athletes in Athletics alone.
I am especially happy that Tajinderpal Singh Toor, who won Gold for India at the previous Asian Games, has been chosen as one of India’s flagbearers for the Opening Ceremony. Along with him, many of our experienced and young athletes will once again carry the hopes of the nation.
It also gives me great joy to see nine athletes from Odisha, including young talents from our tribal communities, being part of the Indian contingent.
For many years, we have tried our best at KIIT & KISS to give our sportspersons the facilities, coaching and support they need to fulfil their dreams. Seeing 54 of them wearing the India jersey at one Asian Games is very special for me.
My best wishes to all our athletes. Give your best for India and make the country proud.
Happy and humbled to receive two special honours from CEEMAN and FIDE on the same day. I am grateful that my lifelong service to humanity through education and social work has been recognised in this way. I share this happiness with my entire KIIT, KISS & KIMS family.
Heartiest congratulations to Mr Timur Turlov on being elected President of FIDE and to Mr Viswanathan Anand on continuing as Deputy President. It makes me especially happy to see Anand ji, who has made India proud for so many years, continue to serve chess in this way.
Mr Turlov has helped bring chess to thousands of schools, and Anand ji has long believed in what the game can offer children. This is close to my heart. Only last week, FIDE, KIIT and KISS signed an MoU to give more of our children the chance to learn chess.
I also want to thank Ms Dana Reizniece-Ozola. At the summit in Samarkand, attended by participants from over 120 FIDE member countries, she recalled her visit to KIIT and KISS. She shared how they stood out among the many places she has visited. I was touched that she remembered our children and spoke about her experience there.
My good wishes to Mr Turlov and Anand ji. I look forward to working with you both.
5 more medals for India from our KIITians at the Asian Games in Japan today. I am so happy for them.
Vithya Ramraj won Bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles in 54.75 seconds. She had once equalled P. T. Usha’s national record; today, she broke it. What a moment for Vithya and for Indian athletics.
In the men’s javelin, Yashvir Singh won Silver with a personal best, and Rohit Yadav took Bronze. Murali Sreeshankar added a Silver in the men’s long jump. My congratulations to each of them.
With today’s two Silver and three Bronze medals, our KIITians have now won 16 medals for India at these Games. My best wishes to all our children still competing.

A Gold and two Bronze medals for India from our KIITians at the Asian Games in Japan today! I am so happy to see my lovable KIITians Kiran Pahal, M. R. Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj win the women’s 4×400m relay in 3:29.69. It is India’s first and, so far, only Gold in athletics at these Games.
Dharmveer Choudhary, Jay Kumar and Vishal T. K. were part of India’s Bronze-winning men’s 4×400m relay team. Animesh Kujur, Harita Bhadra and Gurindervir Singh were part of the mixed 4×100m relay team that also won Bronze. My congratulations to every member of all three teams.
Of the 24 medals India has won in athletics so far, our KIITians have contributed to 19—one Gold, seven Silver and eleven Bronze. My best wishes to all our children still competing.
Very happy to share that KIIT has been placed in the 501–550 band of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, announced at the World Academic Summit in Cape Town. We are now 4th in India, up from 5th last year, and remain No. 1 in Eastern India among all private and government universities.
KIIT is only 29 years old as an institution, since 1997, and 22 years old as a Deemed to be University, since 2004. For a young university from Odisha, this position among 2,297 universities from 118 countries is a matter of pride for all of us. It reminds me that slow and steady wins the race.
I thank our teachers, researchers, staff, students and alumni for all the work they have put in over the years. This happiness belongs to every one of them.

The Ambani family hosted a grand Ganesh Puja at their residence in Mumbai. Educationist, social worker and Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, was specially invited by Nita Ambani to attend the celebration.
Very happy to know that the United Nations has declared 27 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. The date has a special connection with India, as the Government of India had launched the national ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat’ campaign on the same day, 27 November 2024, to work towards a child-marriage-free India.
At KISS, we have always believed that education is one of the strongest ways to protect a girl child from early marriage and give her the confidence to decide her own future. Over the years, we have seen many of our KISSian girls complete their higher education, become independent and marry around the age of 25–26 or later.
KISS has been working on this issue for many years through education, awareness and community outreach. Since 2022, our partnership with Jhpiego has taken this work further through peer education, tribal languages and traditional art forms. This effort also supports the spirit of Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat, launched on 27 November 2024, towards making India free from child marriage.
One of our KISSian girls from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, herself a survivor of child marriage, is today pursuing higher education at KISS-DU and creating awareness in her own community. Stories like hers show how education can change the course of a girl’s life.
This decision of the United Nations gives more strength to the efforts being made everywhere to end child marriage and protect the future of every girl.
Very happy and proud to see India hosting the BRICS Summit 2026 in New Delhi under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji.
BRICS today represents a significant share of the world’s population and economy, and therefore its decisions can make a real difference in areas like development, innovation, education, sustainability and opportunities for the Global South.
My best wishes to Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi Ji and all the participating leaders for a successful BRICS Summit 2026.

The U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, in collaboration with KIIT Deemed to be University, inaugurated the English Access Scholarship Program, supported by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Mission to India.
Consul General Laura Williams and a delegation from the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad graced the launch of the program.
The one-year scholarship programme is designed for students from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, helping strengthen their understanding of American standards for research and academic communication.
The initiative marks another important step towards greater collaboration between the U.S. and India, and will equip students with the confidence and global exposure needed to succeed in higher education, research and professional environments.
A special day at KISS as Padma Bhushan Param Pujya Didi Maa Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji, a revered spiritual leader and the force behind Vatsalyagram, visited our campus and spent time with our students.
She went around the campus, interacted with our KISSians and saw the facilities and work being done here. Didi Maa shared that she had heard about KISS earlier, but seeing its scale and the lives being touched through education made her very happy.
Her words meant a lot to us, especially because she herself has spent years serving children, women and families.
The entire KISS family feels blessed by her visit, affection and appreciation.
Very happy and honoured to welcome Padma Bhushan Param Pujya Didi Maa Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji to our KIIT & KISS campuses today.
Didi Maa spent a good amount of time at KISS, went around the campus, saw the facilities and interacted with our lovable KISSians. She told us that she had heard about KISS earlier, but seeing the work with her own eyes and at such a large scale made her very happy and surprised.
Her words touched me deeply because Didi Maa herself has been doing wonderful work for children, women and society through Vatsalyagram for many years.
When someone who has devoted her own life to service appreciates our small effort at KISS, it gives me great encouragement.
My sincere respect and gratitude to Param Pujya Didi Maa Ji for her blessings, kind words and affection for our children.
Tributes to the legendary Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary, observed across the country as National Sports Day.
His life and achievements continue to inspire generations of sportspersons. Sports have always been very close to my heart, and I strongly believe they build discipline, confidence and character in our youth.
My best wishes to all our players, coaches and young sporting talents across India.
Very happy and proud that five of my lovable KISSians have been selected to represent India in the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series 2026 in Suzhou, China.
For me, it is always a special feeling to see our tribal boys and girls wear the India jersey and compete on the international stage.
My heartiest congratulations and blessings to all five of them. Give your best, play with confidence and make India, Odisha and the entire KIIT & KISS family proud.
