Igbo Mandate Movement Group Congratulates Deputy Speaker on Legislator of the Year Award.
The Igbo Mandate Movement Group has extended warm congratulations to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu on his receipt of the prestigious Legislator of the Year Award, by Leadership Newspapers describing the recognition as well-deserved and a testament to exemplary leadership in legislative duties.
In a statement released by the group's National Coordinator, Igboeli Arinze Napoleon , the organization praised the Deputy Speaker for demonstrating outstanding commitment to legislative excellence, effective representation, and dedication to the advancement of national interests while maintaining strong advocacy for regional development.
"We are immensely proud to celebrate this remarkable achievement," Igboeli Arinze stated. "The Deputy Speaker has consistently shown exceptional leadership qualities, legislative acumen, and an unwavering commitment to the democratic process. This award is not just a personal triumph but a victory for quality representation and effective lawmaking."
The Igbo Mandate Movement Group also highlighted several accomplishments that made the award particularly fitting. According to the organization, the Deputy Speaker has been instrumental in sponsoring and co-sponsoring significant legislation aimed at economic development, infrastructure improvement, and social welfare enhancement. The group specifically commended efforts in championing bills that promote inclusive governance and equitable distribution of national resources.
"Beyond the legislative chamber, the Deputy Speaker has been a voice for the voiceless, consistently advocating for policies that address the concerns of ordinary Niggerians," the statement continued. "The ability to balance national responsibilities with constituency needs is a rare quality that deserves recognition."
The group also praised the Deputy Speaker's role in fostering legislative harmony and building consensus among lawmakers from diverse political and regional backgrounds. This diplomatic approach, they noted, has been crucial in ensuring the smooth passage of important legislation and maintaining stability within the legislative arm of government.
The Igbo Mandate Movement Group, which focuses on political advocacy and the advancement of Igbo interests within the Nigerian political framework, sees the award as inspiration for younger politicians and aspiring leaders. "This achievement demonstrates that hard work, dedication, and genuine service to the people are eventually recognized and rewarded," Igboeli added.
The organization also used the occasion to call on other legislators to emulate the Deputy Speaker's example of diligent service and effective representation.
"Nigerian democracy needs more leaders who understand that legislative positions are not privileges but responsibilities to serve the people with distinction," the statement emphasized.
In expressing gratitude on behalf of the Igbo community, the group pledged continued support for the Deputy Speaker's legislative agenda and expressed confidence that this recognition would spur even greater achievements in the remaining tenure. "We look forward to more landmark legislation and initiatives that will further cement your legacy as one of Nigeria's most effective lawmakers," they stated.
