Five things from the last 24 hours, and what they mean for you.
1. World Bank: in H1 2026 the FG paid ₦7.7tn in interest against ₦6.2tn in revenue. On Sunday the Finance Ministry called that comparison misleading, but published no alternative figures.
2. NLNG dividends: on Sunday the Presidency called Gov. Makinde's ₦250bn-per-state claim false. His camp asked how the dividends already received were shared.
3. Kogi: the APC took all 21 chairmanships and all 239 councillor seats. The opposition alleges missing materials.
4. On Sunday, SERAP said it has sued INEC over ₦126.46bn in election funds flagged by the Auditor-General.
5. Kwankwaso said on Sunday that the Obi–Kwankwaso ticket will not step down.
Interest above revenue, dividends nobody can trace, elections with one winner. This is not normal.

Ndi Imo, here are the last 24 hours, one by one.
1. Kogi announced its council results on Sunday: APC 21 of 21 chairmen and 239 of 239 councillors. The opposition says materials never reached some units. Imo votes for its councils on 7 November, and none of our 27 LGAs has had an elected chairman since 30 September.
2. On Sunday, a statement said our governor assured councils that the President backs LG autonomy. Autonomy starts at home.
3. After a suspected cult killing in Owerri, the police held a security meeting on Sunday.
4. Vanguard's editorial this morning on the kidnapping of 20 corps members and 1 other passenger (21 freed): "relief, not closure."
This is not normal. Normal is honest elections, elected councils, safe streets and public answers.

I have noted with deep concern the conduct of the ADC campaign team. The attacks directed at me, our presidential candidate His Excellency Peter Obi, and our party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are unnecessary and unhelpful.
Rather than focusing on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of their own candidate as we have consistently done by placing our credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief against our party and ticket. This includes attempts to portray us as working for the ruling party or to suggest that we may withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC candidate at the last minute.
The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi.
We are aware that the ADC-PCC may try to mislead our supporters on the eve of the election by claiming that we intend to withdraw in their favour. Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria.
The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate or any other. These claims are unfounded and should be treated as such.
The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative. We believe the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria. It is a healing ticket committed to uniting our country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors.
We believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country. I therefore urge all our supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of our great party.
Nigeria will be OK. - RMK
On Friday night, four volunteers in Plateau were killed guarding their own village. In Niger State, 37 people died in Civil Defence custody, some of them underage. Food is still 19.59% dearer than a year ago. A pension bill for retired police officers has been waiting for the President's signature since March.
None of this is normal. Normal is trained, paid security in every village, a court within two days, food getting cheaper, and bills signed within 30 days, as our Constitution says.
The President said it himself: "No one gets credit for an incomplete assignment."

Twenty young graduates set out to serve Nigeria. On the Owerri–Onitsha road, gunmen stopped them. Families say they paid ransom. The police say they know of none. The state government says it kept quiet on purpose.
Imo's 2026 budget is ₦1.43 trillion. IMSU lecturers have been on strike since August. None of our 27 local governments has an elected chairman.
This is not normal. Normal is safe roads, honest updates, open courts, open campuses, and councils we elect ourselves.
Governor Uzodimma called this election a referendum, and he is on the ballot himself. Let Imo give its answer.

Eggs aren't the enemy — clearance beats fear.
She's right: your liver makes most of your cholesterol, so for most people cutting eggs alone barely moves the needle. Leafy greens really do bind bile acids in your gut, and since your liver makes bile from cholesterol, it has to pull more cholesterol out of your blood to replace it. Walnuts are linked to lower LDL, and olive oil's polyphenols help protect LDL from the more damaging oxidized form. Avocados' monounsaturated fats support healthy cholesterol levels. One correction: oats and barley are the classic beta-glucan sources with the strongest cholesterol evidence — the beta-glucans in nutritional yeast have much thinner data. Eating for clearance beats fearing eggs.
