Behind the distant trees, just at the end of the green field, in a dip, lies the town of Forfar. The Town, like the landscape, hides a secret. Between 1661-1662, Forfar was the site of a Witch Hunting frenzy, the consequences of which, I believe, cast a shadow to this day.
The Yew was regarded as the gentle guardian of the dead and was formerly revered so much in Wales that to cut it down was considered an act of desecration, while to burn any part of it was looked upon as sacrilege 🔥
