but it’s painful to see students study stem just to top an exam. imo foundational subjects should be studied with the intent to push the field forward, to contribute in some real way, to move the needle.

else, it corrupts not just the individual, but stem itself.

pretty fascinating how writing has impacted the world more than everything else.

tech in the form of code. science in the form of research papers. hardware in the form of documentation. culture in the form of literature. music in the form of lyrics.

everything is a downstream of writing and articulation.

satoshi crated trillions of dollars of value thru a bunch of paragraphs and code. google’s “attention is all you need” research paper paved the way for chatgpt. from einstein to shakespeare even.

it’s fascinating how a simple tool like a pen and a paper can help humans give rise to such technological and cultural phenomena, yet we never quite take writing and literature seriously.
