ਸਤਲੁਜ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਹੁਣ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੁਰੇਦਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ੂਨ-ਖ਼ਰਾਬਾ ਸਹਿ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਧਰਮ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਆਓ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰੀਏ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸ਼ੋਰ-ਸ਼ਰਾਬੇ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੀਏ।

ਮੈਂ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਿੰਗ ਕਰੇ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੈ।

The Satluj controversy must end now. Reopening these wounds serves no one — Punjab has bled enough, and healing takes time. The killings of PUNJABIS, irrespective of religion, must never be forgotten. Let us honour the memory of our people, not exploit it for noise.

I specially appeal to the media to report with responsibility and restraint on this matter —
Punjab’s peace comes first.
