sharing rabbit hole adventures including, but not limited to, integrative cancer care, upticks in medicinal cannabis and light as a determinant of health
After 16+months since submission and three major reviews, our systematic review on the #pharmacological evidence of medicinal #cannabis in #oncology is published, so so so thrilled 😁 https://t.co/AjudxGs3WL
Fluorescent lights => cancer
In August 1982 an article was published in the prestigious British Medical Journal The Lancet titled ‘Malignant Melanoma and Exposure to Fluorescent Lighting at Work’. The authors of this study were the first to examine the possible relationship between indoor fluorescent lights and the ever rising rate of melanoma. Taking into account such factors as hair color, skin type and the history of sun exposure it was found that working under fluorescent lights had doubled the risk of melanoma in the subjects of the research.
A plant that’s never killed anyone can cost you your freedom. A prescription drug linked to thousands of deaths is applauded as medicine. Time to rethink cannabis laws.
Just like you can too little or too much of certain macros (carbs, protein, fats), you can get too little or too much of certain wavelengths of light (visible, infrared, UV)
- Infrared is like protein, most don’t get enough
- Visible (blue) is like carbs, most get too much and the low quality
- UV is like fats, often demonized, but it is the wrong fat in the wrong context that is bad, just like UV
Not perfect metaphor but you get the point

Note: Extensive post-production was required to fully restore the speech.
Enjoy.

lesson 10^6 #endnote: Oh, I see that you almost completed excluding articles by title and abstract, however the articles did not appreciate being labelled and are now together as one. Have a good day.
Some relevant knowledge is not being communicated widely because science journals refuse to publish it. Our most recent preprint estimating relatively low herd immunity thresholds has just been rejected. The top reason was:
