my problem is the fact that people are trying to make this show outshine heated rivalry when there’s literally no reason for a competition.

time and time again yall find a way to shadow queer media by pushing out some regular heterosexual project and it’s so tiring.

i don’t understand why you can’t like off campus without hating on heated rivalry.

the thing is the show is fun, a cute little romance drama. they genuinely arent as comparable as everyone wants them to be. except for hockey ofc and topics of abuse and pressures of expectations.

ilya and shane struggle with being the biggest hockey players in the world and the pressures of their family issues all while just wanting to be open about the love they have for one another. but they can’t do that because being homosexual will tarnish their reputation. yet somehow that’s bullshit? i don’t understand.

yall need to learn how to enjoy art bro. you can like both, hate both, like one and not the other without dragging it through the mud.

there’s no reason to hate heated rivalry or off campus either. you don’t have to like the fans or people in the show.

but it’s just disrespectful to act like heated rivalry doesn’t beautifully portray the struggles that queer people face in sports and outside of sports to benefit you’re favorite heterosexual romance.
