I'm so honored to share that I received the 2022 IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Best Dissertation Award! I couldn't be more pleased to hear that the significance of what I had been working on for my Ph.D. was recognized by the wonderful members of the committee.

Also very late to post this, but in September I was invited to a symposium on voice at the Japanese Psychological Association to talk about voice ownership via our CHI 2024 paper (https://t.co/yJcr3zZRcr). Grateful for the rich discussions and the invitation! @sussusu_wenah
I'm very late to post about our #CSCW2025 paper now that the conference is over, but it feels timely: automated paper evaluation is becoming increasingly realistic! Collaboration between humans and evaluative AI in creative work will likely spread far beyond online advertising.
Releasing a new "Agentic Reviewer" for research papers. I started coding this as a weekend project, and @jyx_su made it much better.
I was inspired by a student who had a paper rejected 6 times over 3 years. Their feedback loop -- waiting ~6 months for feedback each time -- was painfully slow. We wanted to see if an agentic workflow can help researchers iterate faster.
When we trained the system on ICLR 2025 reviews and measured Spearman correlation (higher is better) on the test set:
- Correlation between two human reviewers: 0.41
- Correlation between AI and a human reviewer: 0.42
This suggests agentic reviewing is approaching human-level performance.
The agent grounds its feedback by searching arXiv, so it works best in fields like AI where research is freely published there. It’s an experimental tool, but I hope it helps you with your research.

🧐 What if your paper had to be scored by AI and you couldn't submit until it beat a baseline?
That's everyday life for professional ad designers in our study. In our #CSCW2025 paper, we examined a workplace where designers must incorporate AI scores into their workflow. [1/5]
In interviews with designers and managers, we examined designers' trust and reliance on AI, the benefits and challenges it brings to everyday design work, including tensions between score and aesthetics, efficiency and fine-tuning overhead, and how they cope with them. [4/5]
It’s my first step into research on human-AI creative collaboration, as well as my first qualitative study. Lately I’m exploring human creativity in the LLM era, interested in understanding it and designing how to augment creativity. More projects in progress; happy to connect!
I’m at #CSCW2025 in Bergen 🇳🇴!

@KarnatakNimisha Hi, this is a fascinating study! I'm interested in a similar topic (the challenges of incorporating GAI into creative workflows in advertising design & interface development), so I'd love to discuss it with you! Would you be available for a chat if you are at the venue tomorrow?
In the context of social robot teleoperation, we studied the effect of real-time altered auditory feedback (AAF), a method to transform the acoustic traits of one’s speech and feed it back to the speaker, to transform the operator’s self-representation toward becoming the robot🤖
Excited to be presenting our paper “Investigating Effect of Altered Auditory Feedback on Self-Representation, Subjective Operator Experience, and Task Performance in Teleoperation of a Social Robot” at #CHI2024
