Humanitarians are often first to respond in every crisis. Their protection isn’t optional, it is essential to saving lives.
They must be protected. #ProtectHumanity
Today is World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.
Across the world, volunteers and staff from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement show up every day for people in crisis, responding in their own communities, helping neighbours, supporting families, and standing on the frontlines of emergencies that affect them too.
Because beyond every emergency, every response, and every emblem, there is one truth: we are United in Humanity. #UnitedInHumanity
Despite the obstacles and challenges our volunteers and staff experience, their dedication remains unwavering.
We celebrate them for turning compassion into action, helping, healing and standing beside communities when it matters most.

Communities in the Zambezi Region face floods, drought & rising food insecurity. Crops are lost & water is unsafe.
The Namibia Red Cross, with support from @IFRCAfrica is responding—but needs remain high.
More support is critical.
#ZambeziRegion#HumanitarianAction
In the Zambezi Region, Namibia, floodwaters have receded, but the impact continues to affect communities.
Families and livestock were displaced, while homes, crop fields, roads, schools, and clinics were damaged, leaving over 2,000 people affected.
In areas still surrounded by water, communities rely on makeshift boats crafted from tree wood to reach safety and access basic services.
At the same time, the risk of waterborne diseases is rising, adding to concerns for already vulnerable households.
NRCS team is conducting a Post-Distribution Monitoring & beneficiary visits in Zambezi & Kunene under the Emergency Appeal (EA) supported @ifrc.
Using Kobo & Focus Group Discussions, were collecting feedback to strengthen our response.
