I agree that films like #Meiyazhagan and #Maharaja were better than #Raayan last year. Yet, when films such as #Pudhupettai, #VadaChennai, #Karnan, #Maryan, and #Raanjhanaa were released, no one came up to strongly defend the view that they deserved national awards.

Today, about 90 percent of people oppose the National Award for #Raayan. In contrast, when many of my films, which were worthy of national recognition, were overlooked, only about 10% of the audience expressed their discontent.
