Sorry but I don't think genotype mismatch is enough to let the person you love go.
Adoption exists mehn. There are many children in the world without families, why not find one and make them your family? But oh well, Nigeria.
When my friend’s father died, the family asked the step mum to marry the late dad’s oldest son if she wants any part of her husband’s property.
Mind you, this woman was above 50, and the oldest son was around 30.
This is the kind of patriarchy we need to keep questioning. A man dies and instead of supporting the woman he left behind, society places even more restrictions and suffering on her because she is a widow.
We have normalised making women pay for a loss they did not cause. Grief should never be another system through which patriarchy controls a woman’s body and freedom.
A lot of Nigerian men don’t avoid childcare and domestic work because they think it’s feminine. They avoid it because they know it is HARD. 😂
Any man who says taking care of children, cooking, cleaning and managing a home isn’t a full-time job is either being deliberately dishonest, wicked to his wife, or unmarried and has no idea what he’s talking about.
If you had to outsource all the domestic chores, it’ll cost you roughly 300k per month. We’ve seen people literally fly their mothers abroad to do childcare because it is expensive to outsource it.
Yet men want their wives to do all of these ALONE, then also contribute financially (big thieves!). They want to brush aside her cooking and cleaning as “not a real job” because nobody pays her for it, meanwhile she’s literally doing the work of more than four people combined.
The real truth is that if domestic labour wasn’t valuable, we wouldn’t be fighting so hard to make women do it for free.
Pascal’s Wager is basically: “I can’t prove god exists, but what if you get tortured forever for guessing wrong?” 😂
That isn’t evidence. It’s fear being asked to do the job evidence couldn’t.
A 2-parent household is generally the preferred scenario. Very few people want to raise a child alone.
So if some women are choosing the objectively harder path, doesn’t that raise an obvious question; what is it about partnering with men that they are so determined to avoid?
A woman can sacrifice her career to raise your children and hold your home together, then you turn around and say she contributes “nothing” because she doesn’t earn a salary.
Her unpaid labour created the room for you to build your career. Don’t erase a woman’s contribution simply because it doesn’t come with a payslip.
Reality is, even in a marriage, women are single parents. The idea of a man helping you is exactly that, an idea. They may be some present dads out there but you can’t be certain that your guy will be present. So, being ok raising a kid alone if you want one is reasonable.
We are infinitely more forgiving of ‘God’ than He is of us. See how many excuses we’ll manufacture, logical leaps we’ll make, delusions we’ll convince ourselves of to justify His atrocities. Same God who’ll condemn you to eternal damnation for… masturbating.
