"Former Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has been acquitted of all charges.

The state found no evidence to the charges of perjury.

The charges were laid at the time she was investigating President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The evidence relied upon when the charges were filed, do not exist and records and footage prove that Mkhwebane was at the Public Protector’s office in Cape Town, and could not have been at the supposed meeting to which she was implicated.

Mkhwebane was today acquitted of all charges.

These accusations were used as part of her impeachment trial in Parliament & forms part of the Legal Practice Council Court application to have her lawyer's license scrapped.
