Thaksin Shinawatra, the self-exiled former prime minister, will not return to Thailand in July, according to Paetongtarn Shinawatra, a Pheu Thai contender for prime minister.
He wants to avoid any trouble when the political climate is unpredictable, therefore his return has been delayed, though not significantly, she said.
After the Election Commission decided to petition the Constitutional Court to rule on Pita Limjaroenrat's ability to hold office due to his media shares, Paetongtarn also expressed her support for the leader of the Move Forward Party.
Pita's case, according to her, won't currently have an impact on the formation of the government because the coalition led by the MFP will still be able to propose Pita for the role of prime minister tomorrow.
She stated that Pita still has the full support of the Pheu Thai Party for the PM position.
