On this day, May 25, 2020, the entire world witnessed the death of George Floyd. 🙏🏽🕊️💔✊🏽🙏🏽
His daughter, Gianna Floyd, spoke words into reality, “Daddy Changed the World!” 🌎
It was during this time as I was working for a financial institute on Wall Street, that many of my senior colleagues did not have a clue about the injustices to my people that had taken place prior to George Floyd’s death. It was during this time that DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) programs were initiated.
And here we are 6 years later with an administration that is removing DEI and anyone in positions they feel were hired because of it.
We must keep fighting for justice!! We must keep marching for equality!! We won’t go back!!! ✊🏽
Today and everyday we remember George Floyd. 🕊️

For 112 weeks, the National Action Network’s NYC Chapter has continued to stand up for diversity, equity, and inclusion as these principles face coordinated pushback in corporate boardrooms, statehouses, and beyond.
Week after week, rain or shine, we have shown that defending opportunity requires more than words. It takes consistent presence, visible action, and sustained advocacy.
Progress does not protect itself. Equal opportunity does not defend itself. It takes pressure, persistence, and people willing to show up.
Join us every Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 787 11th Avenue in New York City.

Until #DEI is reinstated, the fight for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion continues! ✊🏽
Happy Birthday to my NAN Executive Assistant and Scheduler, Nancy Darlene Crawford. Nancy has been a steady presence in this work, from serving as a devoted NAN member to now helping keep this entire operation moving with grace and precision.
I’m grateful for her dedication, her commitment to the movement, and the way she continues to step up in every season, including hosting our broadcast and serving through the NAN Women’s Auxiliary. Wishing you a year filled with strength, peace, and God’s continued blessings.
57 days away.
Join us in New York City for the National Action Network Annual Convention, April 8–11, as we mark 35 years of organizing, advocacy, and action.
At a time when voting rights are under attack, immigration raids are spreading fear, and Black history is being erased, this year’s theme, Straightening Out Tricks in 2026, calls us to confront deception, defend hard-fought freedoms, and organize with clarity, courage, and purpose.
From policy to protest, faith to forward strategy, this convention brings together leaders, organizers, and community voices committed to justice and accountability.
Registration is free.
Reserve your spot today at https://t.co/vPL7VOwMy7.

@NJTRANSIT I understand things happen, but after sitting on a train for 3 hours this morning and then board a train this evening only to be told its not stopping at your stop and you have to get off in Linden to catch an east bound train, only for that train to tell you they’re not stopping at your stop and you then stand in the cold waiting for an Uber you now have to pay for to get you to your car at the train station where you parked.
Oh and please tell your conductors I’m sorry for inconveniencing them as they seemed annoyed and were slightly rude.
