A “Khal bacha,” or dummy calf, is the stuffed, dead body of a mother cow's offspring (pictured). When the dummy is nearby, it causes her body to continue producing milk.

This photo is from India, where the myth still persists that cows are protected and not exploited/abused/murdered.

In reality, cows are farmed there just like anywhere else, and in states that do ban cow slaughter, male calves are sold off to slaughter in other states and trafficked there, or simply thrown out onto the street to become strays.

A death sentence for our community animals.

In a shocking move, the Supreme Court has ordered that all street dogs in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon & Noida be permanently confined in pounds — with CCTV to ensure none are released.

The court has ignored Animal Birth Control rules, dismissed inputs from intervening parties, and even cited a Western movie dialogue to justify its stance.
All this, despite zero human rabies deaths recorded in Delhi in the past 3 years.

This is not just unscientific, it’s cruel and dangerous. If you care for street animals, now is the time to speak in one voice.

The propaganda from the meat industry is just ridiculous. A smiling cow is apparently volunteering to be cut into a thousand pieces.

You can rename them ‘destitute,’ but the reality remains: they are still ‘abused’ and ‘discarded’ by the dairy industry.

The real issue will not be addressed by altering language; but by recognising the cruelty of separating calves from their mothers and exploiting them for milk.

@Amul_Coop @kmfnandinimilk @MotherDairyMilk @Verka_Coop, and other dairy giants across India, are directly accountable for the systemic neglect and abandonment of cattle.

How about they take some responsibility, rectify their processes, and establish Gaushalas to support the cattle milked dry by them ?

The number of retirement homes run by them? ZERO.
