@womanderogatory@TW1NKD3STR0YER 1. know what you want to try to say (not that one can’t revise and change it over time) and 2. skim secondary sources (Wikipedia is a fine starting point for these authors bc of their popularity)
@TW1NKD3STR0YER eg I had to read Walden for HS but I don’t remember much from it bc it’s not useful to the kind of things I want to write or the arguments I’m trying to make)
@TW1NKD3STR0YER also I think it makes sense to ignore particular authors in the “Western literary canon” if it’s not useful/relevant to whatever thinking you’re interested in
ok one last thing i am surprised by how much i am enjoying swann's way this time when i read it in college i felt like i wasnt understanding it at all probably because i was too stressed and doing too many extracurriculars like wow literature is so amazing when you dont have a bitch in your ear telling you to apply to law school
Hi I am in your city I'm on the other side of town and I have 45 minutes of free time and we're not very close friends and I'm generally kind of unpleasant to be around we have GOT to hang out are you free right now
So for the 6ish months, I’ve been having on and off but weeks-long periods of wrist pain and hand numbness and weakness in my dominant writing hand. How cooked are we?
