#LISA has had an epic year, a breakout solo season away from the K-pop superstar group that deserves its own movie. Which is exactly what it’s getting. Sony Music Vision announced on Monday (July 20) that LISA will be the subject of the upcoming full-length documentary Always Lalisa, which will make its world premiere in the gala program at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (Sept. 10-20).
At press time, no additional information was available about the film or a planned release date in cinemas or on streaming.
In addition, she’s also starring in and executive producing two @netflix projects, the action film TYGO and an untitled Notting Hill-style rom-com, and will headline her upcoming sold-out, four-show Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, VIVA LA LISA, which will take place on Nov. 13-14 and Nov. 27-28.
Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, is produced by Sony Music Vision in association with RCA Records, Tremolo Productions, Salt Water Productions and LLOUD CO.

LISA to premiere her documentary ‘ALWAYS LALISA’ at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, directed by Sue Kim.
TIFF describes it as tracing her path from childhood ambition through BLACKPINK stardom to the artist she is today.
According to a description, the movie follows #LISA during a pivotal year in her life, when, “for the first time since childhood, she steps away from BLACKPINK for a year of INDEPENDENCE. With the clock ticking before her return to the group, LISA confronts the fear and pressure of launching a solo career, pursuing acting, and building a brand, while yearning to maintain a personal life beyond the spotlight.”

“I'm thrilled to announce that Always Lalisa, a feature length documentary about rapper/singer/performer/dancer/actress #LISA that I directed and produced, will be having its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
I'm so grateful to all of my extraordinary and uber-talented collaborators on this project. I will have so much more to say about the incredible gang of co-conspirators I was blessed to work and travel the world with as we share more details about the film. But for now, I'd like to thank the amazing programming team at @TIFF_NET for including us in this year's Gala Presentation lineup, as well as our friends and partners at Sony Music Vision, RCA Records, tremolodocs and Team @wearelloud. See you in Toronto! #TIFF #AlwaysLalisa”
