@RMADL0 that's an interesting perspective as most will say the early-mid 2000s is the peak (i think it is at least) for cave/bullet hell in general though again i can understand just not vibing with slower pace danmaku style
im not too big on donpachi, but the ESP games are insanely good

@RMADL0 @Lithium_Flower7 as for danmaku dodging itself.. it's pretty much a preference thing and i understand if you don't like the feel of slow movement laser mechanics but danmaku dodging is more nuanced than just "stare at hitbox and move out the way of bullet" if the pattern is actually balanced

if you play any dodonpachi game, boss patterns are much more concise, reactable, and less dense
and when you learn these games, you come to realize how much dodging you can straight up avoid through strategy and mechanics

@Lithium_Flower7 @RMADL0 if they're talking about how danmaku games are heavily reliant on memo, then touhou normal modes and cave 1-alls are totally vibe clearable/brute forceable with how many resources they give you it's actually insanely reactive and involved gameplay if you play it this way

@FunkyStrong69 PCB and IN normal mode were also my first 1ccs, they're probably the best beginner shmups especially with THprac nowadays
hardest diff is called "lunatic" and not maniac but yeah if you ever come back to this game lunatic is pretty approachable difficulty wise

i really like that YGW enemies shoot fast ass hard to see bullets that can be fired deceptively lower than you think so you're never autopiloting ever
those blue zako enemies that shoot those triplet spreads are actual fuckers and killed my runs more than i'd like to admit
