After reading 100s of pages of DOJ FARA filings by Baku’s lobbyists, here’s my report on how pro-Azerbaijan articles, viewpoints, & factsheets are placed & disseminated in US (and other) media, often w/o any disclaimers. All to vilify Armenians #StopAliyev https://t.co/dmFMPsMzA3

These Armenian-made tiles originate from Kütahya, the birthplace of our ancestral family. Once a city teeming with Armenian artisans and craftsmen, it was home to Armenian churches and, of course, Armenian ceramics.
Since the Armenian Genocide of 1915, perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire, every single trace of that presence has been wiped out.
In 1919, our family—alongside the Ohanessian and Karakashian families—was commissioned by the British Mandate of Palestine to renovate the tiles on the Dome of the Rock.
Had we not come to Jerusalem to continue and expand our tradition, we, too, would have been eradicated.
My father, Neshan Balian Jr., the grandson of Neshan Balian Sr., was the first member of our family to return to Kütahya after more than a century.
He, too, found no trace of Armenian presence—destroyed and forgotten, now only etched in the souls of our ancestors who have long since passed.
The amazing @nancykric joins me at @NAASR1955 on April 15 to discuss The Burning Heart of the World—her powerful novel about an #Armenian family before, during & after the Lebanese Civil War. Expect a reading, a discussion on craft & themes, & a book signing.
“What does it take to leave behind home and community when war ravages your city?" former Weekly editor @NanoreB asks in this poignant review of @nancykric's newest novel.

Over 30% of the Nagorno-Karabakh people have already fled their ancient land due to Azerbaijani aggression, hatred & threats.
Others are either en route or preparing to do the same.
I believe that more than 90% will flee.
Is this what the world was promising, “rights & security”?
Yesterday’s fuel depot explosion in Artsakh:
Officially 290 injured, incl dozens critical;
20 deaths with bodies;
Many missing, with witnesses estimating that over 100 people were fully burned in the fire;
A medical helicopter arrived from Armenia to evacuate the injured.
🔴The situation in the hospitals of #Stepanakert is absolutely catastrophic!
Shortages of medical staff, panic, people trying to find their loved ones from the blast. Very high number of injured individuals.
🔴We need urgent helicopter airlifting ASAP, otherwise many will die!
Significant escalation in the east of #NagornoKarabakh yesterday & today. #Azerbaijan violates ceasefire with the use of firearms and drones, including Bayraktars. 3 dead and 14 wounded in #Artsakh
1- Under cover of Russia's war against Ukraine, Azerbaijani army broke the November 9 agreement and entered #Parukh village in Mountainous Karabakh, ethnically cleansing its Armenian population.
