The Russian claim of US biolabs in Ukraine developing offensive bioweapons with 240 pathogens (anthrax, cholera etc.) is propaganda.

These are Ukrainian public health labs aided since 2005 by the US Biological Threat Reduction Program (~$200M for 46 sites) to secure Soviet pathogen collections and improve disease monitoring. Labs are Ukrainian-run for diagnostics and vaccines, not weapons.

Russia misrepresents normal lab work as offensive. 2022 claims were debunked by the UN and Russian scientists.

This projects Russia's bioweapons past, justifies the invasion, and spreads disinformation.
