@redhead1558 I get that maybe they didn’t want to include the band intros at the end of the song, but to leave out most of the outro was nuts. You have to listen to concert bootlegs to really understand how well put together that set list was and how the songs seamlessly flowed together.
@ThatEricAlper The thunderstorm in the middle of the Guess Who concert at the baseball park in Winnipeg in 2000. Standing in the middle of a field surrounded by metal light standards with lightning flashing overhead gives one cause for pause. But the show was worth it.

Happy Canada Day to all my friends across Canada! 🇨🇦
Wishing you a fantastic July 1st filled with great music, good friends, and celebration.
Turn it up and enjoy this Canadian classic! 🍁
#CanadaDay😍😍😍
One of the real highlights of the Love Over Gold tour, showing the band at their creative best.
That they chose to put this badly edited version on the live box set was mind boggling. Omitted the superb interplay between Mel and Mark. What was Guy Fletcher smoking?

And give a little love here for the great Jeff Healey, amazing guitarist who left this world far too soon RIP

@DireStraits77 Don’t forget the early version of Telegraph Road they played on the On Location tour in 1981, a year before they recorded it on Love Over Gold. Rare chance to hear it performed live with Pick Withers on drums.

Happy birthday to Hal Lindes, rhythm guitarist of Dire Straits from 1980-84 and a successful film(TV composer.
Killing it here on Two Young Lovers.

@redhead1558 I think Mark let him have more lead guitar parts than any of the other rhythm guitarists. Most notably, the Guitar George verse in Sultans of Swing - Mark took that back for himself after Hal left (I still love the “Guitar Hal” lyrics Mark sang in the UK portion of the LOG tour)
@20th_Centurygal Jeff Healey was probably more known for his part in the movie Roadhouse but he was an amazing rock/blues/jazz guitarist. Lost his eyes to cancer at 1 and his life to the same disease at 41. Gone way too soon.

@redhead1558 They did have the opportunity to put the whole Alchemy, including the unreleased tracks, on the live box set, and still they included a badly edited Portobello Belle.
@redhead1558 It’s just too bad Love Over Gold wasn’t included in the DVD (it’s on the recording and bootlegs) but when you hear all three songs in order it really makes Mark’s acoustic work shine.
