President Isaias is the most unsung panafricansit who, for decades, has been deliberately vilified by the West and its media..the man who stood against Western exploitation and never compromised his people's freedom, dignity, and independence.
President Donald Trump has sent a letter to President Isaias Afwerki, on July 30 this week, underlining that he is "reversing the negative, harmful damage of the Biden Administration around the globe".
In his message that also expresses appreciation for President Isaias' letter of Congratulations of November last year, President Trump referred to his Administration's readiness to re-establish a respectful and productive national relationship between the US and Eritrea "based on honesty, respect, and opportunities to improve peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea".
As it will be recalled, President Isaias had sent a warm message of Congratulations to President Trump in November last year on his "historic comeback and election as the 47th President of the United States of America...at a very crucial time when global peace is of paramount importance more than ever before".
President Isaias had at the time expressed his hopes that President Trump's "election will open a new chapter of fruitful and constructive ties of cooperation between Eritrea and the US".

The extensive discussions centered on enhancement of bilateral ties and partnership as as part and parcel and continuation of the concrete areas of cooperation on various sectors that had been reached between President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Italy in February 2024 last year.
The broad areas of cooperation include the sectors of energy, mining; physical infrastructure; manufacturing; Agriculture, Marine Resources, Tourism, Culture and Sports, Human capital development, economic cooperation and finance. The two sides also discussed regional peace, security and stability.
A Comprehensive Plan of Action on Bilateral Cooperation Between the State of Eritrea and the Italian Republic (as specified above) was signed after the meeting by Mr. Nesredin Mohamed, Eritrea's Minister of Trade and Industry; and, Mr. Edmondo Cirielli, Italy's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The two sides further agreed to hold continuous meetings in Eritrea and Italy in the period ahead to monitor and expedite the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement.
In a brief statement to the Eritrean News Agency, Minister Francesco Lollobrigida underlined that the progress achieved today reflects the initial tangible step in the efforts that have been exerted in Asmara and Rome to enhance bilateral cooperation.

ERITREA is the youngest among African nations, has developed a national culture that rejects all forms of divisiveness and narrow sentiments and is conducive to unity and solidarity. Its unity is rooted in a long tradition of peaceful and harmonious coexistence and was reinforced by the long armed struggle and resistance to preserve independence 🇪🇷
This book, which is a result of in-depth interview with the President of Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki, by @MichelCollon of @InvestigAction, comes at just the right time. I have a friend who often says, "Take away all the fake luxuries and plastic conveniences of sdet life. (ስደት ናብራ) Just give me a car, a good playlist, and the open road at home." There’s something incredibly emotional about that sentiment. It captures a deep longing for freedom, authenticity, and the simple pleasures in life. In a world filled with superficial distractions, all they truly want is the thrill of the journey, the music that resonates with their soul, and the feeling of being truly at home. It reminds me that sometimes, the most meaningful experiences come from embracing the beauty of simplicity.
